You will notice that Fusion has several work spaces. I prefer the Model workspace to work in to make parametric sketches and then extrude, though at times I have to jump into the Patch workspace to make more complex surfaces. They both use sketches though. Using surfaces, sketches etc to shape the model. Fusion doesn't care how you do this. You can jump back and forth into each workspace combining various features to work on the same model.

In the Model workspace you can also create solid model primitives and then manipulate / sculpt them. I really don't like using that method. There isn't any history using that method, and I can't get the precision I'm after. But it does give you the opportunity to build models of incredible complexity.

In the image you posted above, you have a 3D model. Though it looks like it needs to be mirrored for a complete bridge. That's all you need. Then jump into the CAM workspace (Click the Model Button on the top left for the drop down list) and then off you go.

Bob Cad is pretty powerful and easy to use. The cost is far less than Master Cam and Solid Works. We also use Rhino Cam. More of a learning curve than Bob Cad but integrates well with Rhino Cad and Auto Cad.
